UPDATE: Anson Mount has just shared a heartfelt Thanksgiving greeting as filming for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds approaches completion. With only one episode left to film, production is set to wrap in December 2023, marking a significant milestone for the beloved series.
Mount took to his Instagram account earlier today to wish fans a Happy Thanksgiving while preparing for his duties on set. In a touching moment, he passed by co-star Jess Bush, giving her a quick hug before heading to shoot alongside producing director Chris Fisher.
The cast and crew have been hard at work throughout the Thanksgiving holiday, as they push toward finishing the sixth and final episode. Notably, the American team continues production despite the Canadian Thanksgiving having occurred in October. The series is filmed at CBS Stages Mississauga in Toronto, Ontario.
Amidst the hustle, Mount’s demeanor appears significantly improved from last week’s post, where he expressed exhaustion after returning from a brief home visit. He plans to return to his home in Nashville, Tennessee, for a belated Thanksgiving celebration with family before returning to set next Monday.
At the recent Creation Entertainment’s ST: CHI – Trek to Chicago convention, co-star Christina Chong reflected on the bittersweet nature of nearing the end of filming, stating, “It’s crazy that we’re about to start shooting the last episode of Strange New Worlds.”
While production is coming to a close, fans can look forward to the upcoming fourth season set to debut in 2026, followed by a fifth season expected in 2027. In total, 16 new episodes remain on the horizon, promising to keep the excitement alive for the dedicated fanbase.
This Thanksgiving, Anson Mount’s message resonates deeply with fans, reminding them of the hard work and dedication that goes into creating the Star Trek legacy. Stay tuned for more updates as filming wraps and the series prepares for its next chapters.
