URGENT UPDATE: A 19-year-old teenager has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including gang assault, following a brutal attack on a couple during a chaotic car meetup in Malba, New York. The incident occurred on November 23, 2025, and the suspect, identified as Justin Aguilera, faces serious charges after allegedly beating the couple when they confronted reckless drivers.
The arrest took place at 6:00 p.m. Thursday as part of an investigation by the New York Police Department (NYPD). Aguilera is charged with two counts of gang assault, four counts of assault, one count of riot, and one count of trespassing, according to an NYPD spokesperson.
Witnesses reported that the rowdy car meetup began around 12:30 a.m. on South Drive and 141st Street, where drivers were performing donuts and causing chaos. Blake Ferrer and his wife were allegedly assaulted after Ferrer asked the drivers to leave their property. Ferrer suffered multiple broken bones and was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he remains under care.
In a shocking video shared by Republican Councilwoman Vickie Paladino, the couple was seen confronting the group on their lawn. Ferrer held a baseball bat while his wife made a phone call just moments before the violent attack occurred. Another video depicted a car engulfed in flames as drivers continued to gather in the street, highlighting the lawlessness of the event.
Authorities are still searching for three additional suspects involved in the assault. They fled the scene in a white Chevy Silverado, heading southbound on the Whitestone Expressway. Police believe these individuals are between the ages of 18 and 24 years old.
The NYPD has confirmed that the suspects engaged in a verbal dispute with Ferrer, which escalated to a physical assault involving punches and kicks. Ferrer sustained lacerations and bruising but is currently in stable condition, a police spokesperson reported.
Aguilera is set to be arraigned on Friday, as the investigation continues. This incident raises serious concerns about public safety in residential neighborhoods during unsanctioned gatherings.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story as authorities work to bring the remaining suspects to justice.
