The City of Batavia has officially opened a new police station, enhancing its law enforcement facilities. All police operations will transition to the new location at 31 Bank Street starting on December 8, 2024. This move aims to improve service delivery and accessibility for residents.
The new station’s lobby will be accessible to the public on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00. To facilitate construction, Alva Place will be closed from Bank Street to the Batavia City Center parking lot. Residents are encouraged to use the Batavia City Center parking lot during this time.
The Batavia Police Department has confirmed that their non-emergency phone number will remain unchanged. Residents can reach the department at (585) 345-6350 for non-urgent matters.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house will be scheduled at a later date, providing the community an opportunity to explore the new facilities. This development represents a significant investment in public safety and community engagement, reflecting the city’s commitment to enhancing law enforcement capabilities.
