PCM Girls Wrestling Team Splits Duals at Woodward-Granger Tournament

URGENT UPDATE: The PCM Mustangs girls wrestling team just wrapped up a competitive day at the Woodward-Granger dual tournament on December 1, 2023, splitting four duals while showcasing impressive individual performances.

In an exciting display of skill, Emma Beyer dominated the tournament, finishing 4-0, while teammate Hadley Millang stood out with three victories, including a remarkable pin in just 11 seconds. The Mustangs secured victories against North Polk and Clarke, but faced challenges against host Woodward-Granger and Dallas Center-Grimes.

During PCM’s 42-23 win over Clarke, the team capitalized on five forfeits while winning only two of the three contested matches. Millang and Addison Fry each won their bouts by fall, demonstrating their dominance in the ring.

The Mustangs edged North Polk by criteria, claiming six forfeit wins, although they struggled in contested matches, finishing 1-3. Millang’s quick victory at 135 pounds highlighted the team’s potential, but several athletes, including Ryan DeVore and Courtney Cole, took forfeits, limiting their overall performance.

In a challenging match against Woodward-Granger, the Mustangs fell 28-48. Despite this loss, Millang secured her only contested win in a tough outing against Dallas Center-Grimes, where the team suffered a 60-18 defeat, managing just one contested victory overall.

The day was marked by standout performances. Beyer finished with three forfeit wins, while Millang ended 3-1 at the tournament, earning three pins along the way. Other notable wrestlers included Holly Wood, Macie Kain, and Carly Wilkerson, all finishing 2-2.
