Bath & Body Works Confirms Christmas Day Closure for All Stores

URGENT UPDATE: Bath & Body Works has confirmed that all 1,789 stores will remain closed on Christmas Day this year, allowing employees to celebrate the holiday with their families. Shoppers are advised to check with their local stores for any updates regarding December 25 operations.

All Bath & Body Works locations will resume business on December 26, opening from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a post-holiday sales event. The chain will also operate on New Year’s Eve from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on New Year’s Day from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This announcement comes as many retailers finalize their holiday hours. Notably, Kohl’s will also close all its stores on Christmas Day, having extended hours leading up to the holiday. Currently, Kohl’s operates from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with even earlier openings from 7:00 a.m. to midnight from December 20 to December 23. On Christmas Eve, the store will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Other major retailers confirm similar closures. T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods will also close their doors for the holiday. Lowe’s is set to shut down on Christmas Day, although it will operate on extended hours on December 23 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Additionally, Walmart and Target will not be open on Christmas, while Trader Joe’s will close on both Christmas and New Year’s Day, limiting hours on the eve of both holidays to 5:00 p.m.. Trader Joe’s typically operates until 9:00 p.m., reducing shopping time by four hours.

As holiday shopping peaks, these closures will undoubtedly affect consumer access to essential items and holiday gifts. A spokesperson for Trader Joe’s emphasized, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year — and a most wonderful time to shop for all the Trader Joe’s products that make the season bright!”

With these developments, shoppers are encouraged to plan ahead to ensure they have everything needed for their celebrations. Be sure to check local store hours and updates as the holidays approach.
