UPDATE: Arlington Police have made a significant breakthrough in the 2021 murder of transgender woman Kier Solomon, with the arrest of 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr. This urgent development comes after a lengthy, four-year investigation, culminating in charges of Murder against Morris, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On September 30, 2021, Solomon was tragically found shot in her vehicle at a North Arlington apartment complex. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after. The case remained unsolved until police examined Solomon’s phone records, revealing she had been lured to the area under false pretenses, intending to meet someone from a dating app—an alarming pattern linked to Morris.
Detectives uncovered that another victim had reported a similar incident involving robbery and aggravated assault just weeks prior to Solomon’s murder. This critical connection led investigators to focus on Morris, whose method of contacting victims through apps and arranging meetings at the same Stonetrail Road location raised red flags.
By September 2025, police had gathered compelling evidence, including emails and phone records, that positioned Morris at the crime scene “before, during, and after the murder,” according to a statement from the Arlington Police Department.
Chief of Police Al Jones praised the relentless efforts of the detectives, stating, “This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives. Sometimes we get that big break in a case right away, and other times we don’t. What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime and exhausting every possible lead to achieve that goal.”
Currently, Morris is being held at a facility in Childress, Texas, and is awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for his arraignment. The community is hopeful that justice will finally be served for Kier Solomon, whose life was violently cut short.
As the investigation continues, authorities encourage anyone with additional information to come forward. The Arlington Police Department remains committed to bringing closure to this tragic case, shedding light on the challenges faced by vulnerable communities, and ensuring that victims like Solomon are not forgotten.
This urgent arrest not only marks a pivotal moment in the investigation but also serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for justice and accountability in cases of violence against marginalized individuals.
