UPDATE: A woman wanted for child rape in Hawaii has been apprehended in Massachusetts. Coleen Kuamo`o, also known as Malama Kuamo`o, 43, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Worcester on July 15, 2023, following an urgent manhunt.
Kuamo`o is facing serious charges in Hawaii, including one count of sexual assault in the first degree, three counts of sexual assault in the third degree, and one count of using a computer in the commission of a crime. Authorities allege she assaulted a child in Wailuku, Hawaii.
“Anyone who thinks they can flee across the country to avoid facing justice is mistaken,” said Kevin Neal, Acting U.S. Marshal for Massachusetts. “The U.S. Marshals Service is committed to ensuring fugitives face justice – no matter where they run.”
The arrest came after the Maui Police Department collaborated with the U.S. Marshals Service in Hawaii, believing Kuamo`o was hiding in the Bay State. Marshals located her in Worcester on Thursday, swiftly taking her into custody.
