Federal authorities have initiated an investigation following the discovery of a hunting stand positioned with a clear sight line to the landing zone of Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport. Kash Patel, the Director of the FBI, confirmed that the agency is actively pursuing this matter and has not yet linked the stand to any individuals of interest.
According to Patel, the stand was found by the Secret Service prior to President Donald Trump‘s arrival in West Palm Beach. He stated, “Before the President’s return, the Secret Service discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone.” No individuals were found at the location, prompting the FBI to take charge of the investigation. The agency has deployed resources to collect evidence from the scene and is utilizing cell phone analytics capabilities to aid in their inquiry.
Anthony Guglielmi, the Chief of Communications for the Secret Service, noted that “items of interest” were located near the airport during pre-emptive security preparations. He emphasized that there was no disruption to any scheduled movements and that no individuals were present at the site. “While we are unable to disclose specifics about the items or their intent, this incident highlights the significance of our layered security measures,” Guglielmi stated.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino informed Fox News that agents have dismantled the stand, which is currently undergoing analysis for further evidence. “It’s being flown to our lab,” Bongino explained. “I believe it’s there right now, and all the forensic tools we have, from digital tools to biometric tools, are all going to be applied to try to find out who put this up there and why.”
