Good Samaritan Returns Cherished Photo Album to Family in Mobile

A family photo album, inadvertently donated to a Goodwill store in Mobile, Alabama, has been returned to its rightful owners thanks to the efforts of a Good Samaritan. The album, discovered at a Goodwill location on Airport Boulevard, contained intimate family photographs that held significant sentimental value.

Last week, Patty Bouler found the album titled “Baylee, 80th birthday” and felt compelled to act. Realizing the importance of the memories encapsulated within the pages, she contacted FOX10 News to share her discovery. Bouler noted, “Someone has got to want it. Someone in the family. These are cherished memories. I’d love for the family to get it back.”

The story gained traction, and soon, a viewer recognized the individuals in the pictures. They reached out to Geri Meyers, who is Baylee’s daughter. Meyers expressed her gratitude upon hearing the news. “I think it’s the most wonderful thing in the world that she was able to find me. I’m just dumbfounded,” she said.

The photo album included joyful images of family celebrations, with one photograph dated January 12, 2015. Meyers, who resides in Baldwin County, was unsure how the album ended up at the Goodwill store but speculated that it could have been accidentally donated during a move a few years ago.

Reflecting on the memories captured in the album, Meyers shared, “There I am with her. My sister. This is my mother and me. She was 90 when she passed. She lived a good long life, God bless her.” The return of the album has provided her with a tangible connection to her late mother, allowing her to keep those precious memories alive.

Meyers expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Bouler’s efforts. The incident serves as a reminder of the power of community and the importance of preserving family history.
