Major Traffic Disruptions in Boulder County: Key Updates for Nov. 1-7

UPDATE: Significant traffic disruptions are affecting Boulder County this week, impacting commuters and residents alike. From November 1 to 7, multiple construction projects are underway, prompting lane closures and detours throughout the area.

28th Street Improvements: A major improvement project on 28th Street between Pearl and Iris is set to enhance multimodal travel. The northbound RTD Stop No. 17992 at Valmont Road will be temporarily relocated until December 31, causing potential delays for those relying on public transportation.

19th Street Closure: Commencing today, crews will replace the bridge over Fourmile Canyon Creek and construct a new bike and pedestrian underpass. Northbound 19th Street will be completely closed between Sumac and Upland. Detours for vehicles and RTD services will be in place via Quince. This critical work is expected to last until April 1.

63rd Street Waterline Replacement: A waterline replacement project will also see 63rd Street, Andrus, and 62nd Street closed to through traffic from Jay to Valmont. Access for local businesses and residents will be maintained, but travelers should expect disruptions until April 1.

Colo. 7 Milling and Paving: Significant milling and paving work is taking place on Colo. 7 through late October, with project completion set for December 15. Alternating double-lane closures will occur between 28th Street and Cherryvale Road from 7 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday, complicating the daily commute for many.

Boulder County Culvert Replacement: On Sugarloaf Road at Betasso Road, lane closures are anticipated due to two culvert replacements, with a temporary three-way traffic signal causing delays. This work is expected to continue into November, but access to Betasso Preserve will be preserved.

Erie Traffic Signals: In Erie, lane closures are scheduled on Erie Parkway and Glacier Drive for traffic signal installations through December. Expect delays on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Additionally, full closures will occur on WCR 1.5 between Erie and WCR 3, and WCR 3 between WCR 10 and 10.5, lasting until November 26 for maintenance work.
