WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. – The Madison County Photo Contest has concluded, with April Lewin of Canastota named the grand prize winner for her captivating photograph titled “Old barn in winter on Jones Rd. in Erieville, NY.” This image beautifully captures the essence of the town of Nelson and the broader Madison County region.
As the grand prize recipient, Lewin’s photograph will grace the cover of the 2026 Madison County Calendar. In addition, she has been awarded a $200 gift card to the Peterboro Table, a local establishment in Morrisville. The Madison County Tourism and the Peterboro Table collaborated to provide this generous prize.

2026 Calendar Now Available for Purchase
The winning images will also be featured in the 2026 calendar, which is currently available for purchase. Each calendar contains 15 months and can be bought for $5 at the County Office building in the Board of Supervisors Office. This year, Madison County received an impressive 160 photo submissions from around 65 different photographers. The competition encourages residents and visitors alike to capture the beauty of the community, and organizers express gratitude to all who participated.
