The Annual Friends of the Conant Public Library Arts & Crafts Show is set for a new venue this year, allowing for greater accessibility and an increased number of vendors. Scheduled for Saturday, November 22, 2023, the event will take place at Houghton Elementary and Chocksett Middle Schools, located at 32 Boutelle Road in Sterling, Massachusetts. Shoppers can explore the fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring over 50 talented local artisans.
The move to this new location comes in response to the event’s growing popularity, according to Beth Cyr, chairperson of the craft fair. “The new venue allows space for even more artists and craftspeople,” she said. Shoppers can expect high-quality, handmade gift items filling the cafeterias of both schools, creating a vibrant holiday atmosphere.
Returning artisans will showcase a variety of offerings, including alpaca products, aromatherapy items, beach glass art, and an array of handmade candles and pottery. New vendors will introduce fresh products this year, such as maple syrup, custom pet portraits, and unique candles presented in vintage teacups.
Admission is set at $2, with proceeds supporting programs at the Conant Public Library. Attendees will receive a “Passport” that can be stamped at three different locations within the fair, providing an opportunity to win a prize. Popular traditions will continue, including a bake sale, cheese sale, raffle, and a lunch café, ensuring that the festive spirit remains intact despite the change in location.
Despite the full vendor capacity, artisans interested in participating in future events can contact Beth Cyr via email at [email protected] to join the waiting list for next year’s show. This year’s fair is co-sponsored by All One Credit Union, highlighting the community support behind this beloved holiday event.
