Prairie Rose 4-H Honors Achievements at Annual Banquet

Members of the Prairie Rose 4-H club celebrated their achievements during a well-attended Achievement Banquet on November 10, 2023. The event took place at the cafeteria of Iola High School, where members gathered to recognize individual accomplishments and the club’s overall success. The banquet featured a meal sponsored by Emprise Bank, enhancing the community spirit of the occasion.

During the night, various awards were presented to outstanding members. Kason Botts received the award for the Top Secretary’s Book, while Kylar Botts was honored with the Top Historian’s Book. Lucas Owens took home the award for the Top Reporter’s Book, illustrating the dedication and hard work of these young individuals.

In addition to the individual accolades, the club achieved a Purple seal this year, reflecting its commitment to excellence and community service. As part of their monthly meeting, the Prairie Rose 4-H also hosted a Bring-A-Friend Game Night, encouraging participation and camaraderie among members.

A significant aspect of the club’s activities this year has been its commitment to community outreach. The members participated in a service project by contributing canned food to the Moran Food Pantry. This initiative not only supports local families in need but also fosters a sense of responsibility and community among the youth.

Participants in the community service project included several young members, with notable contributions from Hudson Gabbert, Harper Gabbert, Colt Dudley, Edward Meiwes, Wade Meiwes, and Henry Gabbert in the front row. In the second row, Molly Chenowith, Andrew Chenowith, Declan Chenowith, Lucas Owens, Brynleigh Borth, Sophia Heim, Kylar Botts, Kason Botts, and Doug Dix were also involved, showcasing the collective effort of the group.

The Achievement Banquet served as a platform to not only celebrate individual accomplishments but also reinforce the values of teamwork and community service that are central to the 4-H ethos. As the Prairie Rose 4-H club looks to the future, it remains committed to fostering personal growth and community involvement among its members.
