He graduated from Linton High School in 1963 and went on to earn a computer science and math degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. His service in the U.S. Naval Reserve and active duty during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970 showcased his dedication to his country.

In Jacksonville, Stark was a prominent member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center, where he served as a minyan captain. He was also involved with Magen David Adom and the Jacksonville Humane Society. Alongside his wife, Katherine Senrick Stark, he fostered and adopted dogs for the Golden Receiver Rescue Society, embodying his passion for helping those in need.

Stark’s legacy extends to his family, which includes his son Aaron Stark, daughter Rachel Stark Corum (with husband Brady), and grandchildren Elliot David Corum and Arya Corum. His sisters, Nancy Schoenburg of Boca Raton, FL, and Barbara Heisler of Tucson, AZ, also survive him.
