Elaine Hendrix’s Injury Forces Absence from DWTS Halloween Show

Elaine Hendrix was unable to participate in the Halloween edition of *Dancing With the Stars* on October 30, 2023, due to a rib injury sustained during rehearsals. The performance with her professional partner, Alan Bersten, was instead evaluated based on their practice session. Following her absence, Hendrix took to social media to discuss her condition and inform fans about her anticipated return to the competition.

During rehearsals, Hendrix experienced significant discomfort in her ribs, prompting her hospitalization for further evaluation. Despite her absence from the ballroom, the couple’s rehearsal was judged, and fans continued to vote as usual. The judges praised their practice performance, awarding them an impressive score of 32 out of 40 points. Judge Derek Hough commended Hendrix, stating, “She is a born performer… Even in that rehearsal, she was so impressive.”

Hendrix later shared a video on Instagram from her hospital room, explaining the circumstances surrounding her injury. “Hi, so, obviously I’m not in the ballroom. I injured my ribs during ‘Defying Gravity,’ and today they just seized up and I couldn’t move,” she said. She reassured fans that doctors have cleared her to return to the show after a brief period of rest.

In her Instagram post, she expressed her disappointment at missing Halloween night, saying, “Halloween is my favorite, and I’m devastated. I was beyond excited to share what we had worked so hard on.” She emphasized her gratitude for the support she received, adding, “With your support, I’ll be back in the ballroom next week. I want nothing more.”

Hendrix also extended her appreciation to Bersten and the entire *DWTS* team for their encouragement during this challenging time. As fans await her return, the show continues to engage audiences with its vibrant performances and competitive spirit.
