The fifth season of Emily in Paris has premiered on Netflix, bringing back the beloved character Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins. This time, however, viewers will see her navigating life and love not just in Paris but also in Italy, marking a significant shift in the series’ setting.
What’s New in Season 5?
Creator Darren Star describes this season as a “tale of two cities,” where Emily experiences a blend of cultures and romances. The storyline expands as she splits her time between the iconic streets of Paris and the enchanting landscapes of Rome. Season 5 promises to elevate the stakes for Emily, both personally and professionally.
Returning cast members include familiar faces such as Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Ashley Park as Mindy, and Lucas Bravo as Gabriel. Notably, Thalia Besson reprises her role as Geneviève, Sylvie’s stepdaughter and a new marketing specialist at Agence Grateau. Unfortunately, Camille Razat will not return, having been written out of the series.
Alongside the established cast, several new actors join the ensemble for this season, including acclaimed talents Minnie Driver, Bryan Greenberg, and Michèle Laroque. Their characters are set to add fresh dynamics to the show.
Meet the New Faces
Minnie Driver joins the cast as Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie who has integrated into the royal family. Driver expressed her excitement about joining the series, stating, “I am beyond thrilled to be joining this sensational cast and show.” Known for her breakout role in the film Circle of Friends, Driver has also appeared in productions like Tarzan and Ella Enchanted.
Bryan Greenberg portrays Jake, another American navigating life in Paris. Fans of One Tree Hill may recognize him from the series, where he played a character with the same name. His filmography includes Bride Wars and Friends with Benefits.
Michèle Laroque takes on the role of Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie’s. Laroque is celebrated in French cinema, known for her roles in films such as The Closet and Ma Vie en rose.

With multiple love interests, Season 5 sets the stage for an intricate love triangle.
As the series progresses, fans will witness how Emily’s new adventures in Rome and her relationships evolve, particularly with the backdrop of a growing career in marketing. The intriguing plotlines are sure to keep viewers engaged as the characters navigate their personal and professional lives.
