The Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra (GRVCO) will present its annual Winter Concert, titled “Once Upon a December,” at 3:30 p.m. on December 13, 2023. The event will take place at the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center in Trenton, Missouri. This concert offers a unique opportunity for music enthusiasts to enjoy performances from twelve communities across the region, including St. Joseph, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Cameron, and Pattonsburg.
Admission to the concert is free, thanks to support from the Donors Club and various anonymous benefactors. Following the performance, attendees will have the chance to meet the talented musicians in the Trenton High School Commons, fostering a sense of community engagement.
The concert will feature a mix of classic Christmas favorites like “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” performed by the orchestra, alongside contemporary pieces such as “Festival of Christmas,” presented by the choir. The orchestra is led by Trenton High School graduate Raymond Linville, while the choir is directed by Linda Arnold.
As a non-profit organization, GRVCO relies heavily on donations to sustain its musical endeavors. Information about the Donors Club will be available at the door, and special collections during the concert will support the Wright Memorial Hospital Foundation. This initiative emphasizes the organization’s commitment to giving back to the community.
