Seth Meyers’ Late Night Show Airs Reruns for Christmas Week

Late Night With Seth Meyers will not feature new episodes this week, as NBC has opted to air reruns during the Christmas holiday. This decision aligns with a long-standing tradition in late-night television, allowing viewers to enjoy previous segments while gathering with family and friends.

From December 25, 2023, audiences can look forward to a selection of episodes that initially aired in October and November. The lineup begins on Monday with the episode that first aired on October 6, featuring actress Kirsten Dunst and actor Tony Shalhoub, who was promoting his culinary travel series Breaking Bread.

The following day, viewers will see the episode aired on October 7, which includes an interview with Dunst’s co-star Channing Tatum, singer Megan Moroney discussing her single “6 Months Later,” and chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who shares cooking tips while enjoying cucumber mint martinis with Meyers.

On December 24, the show will not broadcast a new episode. Instead, the rerun scheduled for December 25 features segments from the episode that debuted on November 27. This episode includes family stories from Meyers’ relatives, discussing travel to Pittsburgh, as well as a humorous moment involving Meyers’ failed scooter test during a vacation in Bermuda.

The week wraps up with an episode that originally aired on October 10, showcasing Rose Byrne, Major League Baseball players Sean Casey and Mark DeRosa, and comedian Caleb Hearon, who promotes his debut special, Model Comedian.

While airing reruns during holiday weeks is common, this break follows a challenging year for late-night programming. In contrast to the difficulties faced by shows like The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which was canceled in July, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, which experienced a temporary suspension, Late Night With Seth Meyers has managed to maintain a steady presence.

Throughout the year, Meyers has also found himself in the crosshairs of political commentary. Donald Trump has criticized the show multiple times, most recently calling for Meyers’ firing on Truth Social in November. In response, Meyers addressed the situation on his show, expressing that he welcomes the president’s reactions. “I take no issue with the president voicing his displeasure with my show,” he remarked, acknowledging that Trump often has valid points on some nights.

For those seeking entertainment this holiday season, Late Night With Seth Meyers airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. ET/PT on NBC, offering a mix of humor and celebrity interviews to keep viewers engaged.
