Community Mourns the Loss of Sandra J. Miner, 76, After Courageous Fight

Sandra J. Miner, a beloved member of the Boscawen community, passed away on December 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 76 years old. Born on April 5, 1949, in Concord, New Hampshire, Sandra was the daughter of Elwyn B. and Annie F. (French) Chamberlin.

Throughout her life, Sandra made significant contributions to her community. She attended the Charles Street School, the Summer Street School, and graduated from Penacook High School. After completing her education, she embarked on a diverse career, working for the New Hampshire Aeronautics Commission and the J.M. Field’s Snack Bar. Her longest tenure was at Alans of Boscawen Restaurant, where she dedicated 22 years of service. Most recently, she served as a snack bar cook in the Merrimack Valley School District.

Sandra was also actively involved in local organizations. She served as President of the Torrent Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and contributed to the Boscawen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she made a lasting impact.

In her personal life, Sandra enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including reading, knitting, and solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Her creative spirit extended to various crafts, which she shared with family and friends.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard A. Miner Sr.; her son, Leonard Miner Jr., and his wife, Lea, of Laconia; her daughter, Rebecca Reed, and her husband, Ed, of Salisbury; as well as two grandchildren, Allyssa Miner of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Jacob Miner of Haverhill, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind several in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sandra was predeceased by her mother, Annie Chamberlin; her daughter, Patience Hibbard; and her brother, Stanley Chamberlin of Loudon.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, December 20, from 11:00 to 13:00 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, located at 172 King Street in Boscawen. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery on Corn Hill Road in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
