Scott Adams Updates Fans from Hospital, Cancels Daily Live Stream

Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip “Dilbert,” shared updates with fans from his hospital room on November 2, 2023, announcing the cancellation of his daily live stream, “Coffee with Scott Adams.” Adams, who disclosed his prostate cancer diagnosis earlier in the year, explained that he was unable to host the usual episode due to being confined to a hospital chair.

In a candid video posted on both X and YouTube, Adams jokingly described his situation, stating, “I’m tied to a chair in the hospital. Well, velcroed to a chair.” He reassured his audience that he would be fine and anticipated leaving the hospital later that day. “This won’t be a show today… I’m in the hospital. I’ll be out probably I think later today. Should be fine. Small-ish problems,” he added.

The 66-year-old creator expressed discomfort during his live stream, mentioning pain in one of his legs and noting he was receiving a significant amount of antibiotics. He speculated that he may have contracted infections while hospitalized. “I’m connected in every way you can be connected to a building. I’m velcroed to a chair. I got things stuck in my arm. They’re measuring everything they can measure,” he explained.

Despite the circumstances, Adams maintained a light-hearted tone. He interacted with over 1,000 live viewers during the stream, expressing gratitude for their support. “I just wanted to leave a little record here that I’m here, but the show won’t be here today because somebody tied me to a chair with Velcro,” he said.

In previous episodes of his show, Adams had called on former President Donald Trump on November 2 to assist with scheduling a potentially life-saving treatment for his cancer through his health insurance provider, Kaiser Permanente. He claimed that this request likely saved his life, and later he reported that Kaiser was providing him with “a high-quality product.”

Adams’ ongoing health challenges have drawn significant attention, particularly given his influential platform. His candid approach to discussing his illness resonates with many of his followers, who appreciate his openness during difficult times. As he navigates his health journey, fans remain hopeful for his swift recovery and return to regular programming.
