Annual Arts and Crafts Show Moves to New Venue with More Vendors

The Annual Friends of the Conant Public Library Arts & Crafts Show is relocating this year, providing a new venue that accommodates over 50 vendors and offers ample parking for attendees. The event will take place at Houghton Elementary and Chocksett Middle Schools, located at 32 Boutelle Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 22, 2023.

This popular juried fair, which has been held for many years at the First Church in Sterling, has seen increasing demand, prompting the move. According to Beth Cyr, chairperson of the craft fair, the new location will facilitate the participation of even more artisans and craftspeople. “The new venue allows space for even more artists and craftspeople,” she stated.

Shoppers can expect a diverse range of handmade items, all crafted by local artisans. Returning vendors will showcase products including alpaca goods, aromatherapy products, baskets, beach glass art, skincare items, candles, and jewelry. New offerings this year will feature maple syrup, pet portraits, olive oil, sambal sauces, and custom wreaths, among others.

At the event, visitors will also find beloved traditions such as a bake sale, cheese sale, raffle, and a lunch café, which will continue in the new setting. Admission to the Arts & Crafts Show is $2, with proceeds supporting programs at the Conant Public Library. Each attendee will receive a Passport, which can be stamped at three locations for a chance to win a prize.

Although the vendor spaces are fully booked, interested artisans can contact Beth Cyr at [email protected] to join a waiting list and receive updates about future shows. This year’s event is co-sponsored by All One Credit Union, further enhancing the community spirit surrounding this festive occasion.
