Berks County Offers $2,500 Scholarship for Polish Heritage Projects

The Polish American Heritage Association of Berks County is offering a scholarship opportunity for local high school seniors. A total of $2,500 will be awarded to a Berks County student of Polish descent who submits a project focused on Polish history, culture, or traditions. This initiative aims to promote awareness and appreciation of Polish heritage within the community.

Students interested in applying for the Polonia project scholarship must complete their submissions by March 15, 2024. Projects should reflect the rich tapestry of Polish history, culture, or traditions, providing applicants with a chance to engage deeply with their heritage while potentially earning financial support for their educational endeavors.

Applications for the scholarship are available at various Berks County high school guidance offices. Additionally, students can contact Chris Curtis at 484-256-9603 for further information. The Polish American Cultural Center, located in Room 509 of the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts at 201 Washington St., Reading, also provides access to application materials. The center is open to the public on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

For convenience, applicants can download the scholarship application directly from the association’s website at www.berkspaha.org. This initiative not only supports students but also encourages the exploration and celebration of Polish heritage within Berks County, fostering community connections and cultural pride.
