Community Mourns the Passing of Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda

Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by family. Her life, filled with warmth and humor, touched the hearts of many in her community. Born to Antonio and Petra Zepeda, both of whom have passed away, Lilly was part of a large, close-knit family that influenced her throughout her life.

Lilly was previously married to the late Robert Jack Dittel. She is survived by their two children, Robert Anthony Dittel and Kimberly Marie Dittel, as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Tragically, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Christine Ann Dittel.

Celebration of Life and Legacy

Lilly’s family has expressed that she was a source of love and laughter. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Zepeda, and sisters Minnie and Rebecca. She is mourned by numerous cousins and friends, whose lives she enriched with her spirit and generosity.

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM on December 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in West St. Paul. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, followed by a luncheon. Lilly will be interred at Noon on December 26 at Riverview Cemetery, also located in West St. Paul.

Lilly’s family emphasized the profound impact she had on their lives. Her legacy of love and kindness will be cherished by all who knew her. The deep sense of loss felt by family and friends is a testament to the rich life she led and the connections she nurtured throughout her years.

She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
