Patricia Lois Tiller, a beloved member of the St. Paul community, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at the age of 101. Born on October 29, 1924, in Princeton, Minnesota, Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, led a vibrant life filled with diverse experiences and a deep commitment to her family and community.
Pat’s career was marked by a variety of roles, reflecting her adaptability and determination. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide, Bank Teller, Keypunch Operator, and even served as an usher at the Metrodome. Notably, she held a position as a Civil Servant for the U.S. Army in Germany, where she was entrusted with Top Secret Clearance. Her professional journey showcased her ability to excel in multiple fields and her dedication to service.
Throughout her life, Pat embraced her passion for travel, exploring destinations such as Russia, Iceland, and the Panama Canal. She participated in numerous Elder Hostel retreats—now known as Road Scholar—alongside friends, and enjoyed time-share vacations that allowed her to expand her horizons and create lasting memories.
Community involvement was a cornerstone of Pat’s life. She joined various clubs, including the Red Hot Peppers (a part of the Red Hats), the Swiss Society, and hiking clubs in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Her interests were diverse and included golf, bowling, bridge, Scrabble, crosswords, jumble, square dancing, hiking, and Mah Jong. Beyond her hobbies, she also demonstrated her musical talents with the harmonica and accordion.
Pat was a notable fan of animals, especially cats and dogs, and enjoyed activities such as visiting casinos, attending live horse racing events, and playing games like Wheel of Fortune. Her lively spirit and zest for life will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Nathanel and Hulda; her second child, Kenneth Vrioni Jr.; and her brothers, Glen, Russell, and Lawrence. She is survived by her children, Raymond, Wayne, Barbara, and Paul; her grandson, Nevar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services Scheduled
A memorial service honoring Patricia Lois Tiller will be held on December 22, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 104 South Snelling, St. Paul. The schedule for the day includes visitation at 10:00, a worship service at 11:00, and a luncheon at 12:00. Following the luncheon, Patricia will be laid to rest at Minneola Lutheran Church, situated at 13638 County 50 Blvd, Goodhue, MN.
Pat’s legacy will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew her, as her warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit touched many lives throughout her century-long journey.
