Community Remembers Robert C. Buchanan, 70, Navy Veteran

Robert C. “Bob” Buchanan, a respected member of the Olivehurst community and a veteran of the United States Navy, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 70. His death marks the end of a life dedicated to service and craftsmanship, leaving a lasting impact on those who knew him.

Born on October 18, 1955, in Woodland, California, Bob was the son of Margaret Jean and Kenneth Christopher Buchanan. He graduated from Woodland High School in 1974 before enlisting in the Navy, where he served on the USS Sterett. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of duty and commitment, qualities that he carried throughout his life.

Bob was particularly well-known for his exceptional skills as a handyman. He often helped friends and neighbors with various tasks, earning a reputation for his reliability and expertise. Family and Legacy

Bob is survived by his sister, Wanda Graham, of Rio Vista, California, and her husband, Gregory. He also leaves behind his nephew, Ian Graham, of Reno, Nevada, along with several other relatives including his aunt and uncle, JoAnn and Ron Ciemny, of Woodland, and cousins Vivian Lee (Tim Fowler), Lori Schwabenland (Greg), and Wesley Lee (Michelle).
