Established a decade ago, Zumbro Valley Christmas Trees offers a variety of tree species, including Blue Spruce, White Pine, and Scotch Pine. The farm, located in Minnesota, has become a beloved destination for families seeking to create lasting holiday memories.
Owner Dave Blissenbach shared his inspiration for starting the farm, crediting his uncle, who has been cultivating Christmas trees near St. Cloud for over fifty years. Blissenbach has been planting trees at the Zumbro Valley location for twenty years, noting that it takes approximately eight to ten years for a tree to reach maturity.
As he reflects on his experience, Blissenbach mentions, “We have a few people who have been with us that whole time. We see the young families as they grow and their kids get a little bigger each year.” He emphasizes the joy that comes with this seasonal tradition, stating, “Everybody’s always in a good mood when they’re getting a Christmas tree, and it’s just a lot of fun to be able to be a part of that and help them make a memory for their families.”
The farm is open for the 2025 Christmas season every Saturday and Sunday until December 14. Visitors can expect not only a wide selection of trees but also a warm and welcoming environment, making it an ideal outing for families looking to embrace the holiday spirit.
