MACNY Expands Team with Six Key New Hires to Enhance Services

MACNY, The Manufacturers Association, has announced the addition of six new staff members to enhance its capabilities in various sectors, including human resources, workforce development, government relations, and public policy. This expansion aims to strengthen the association’s support for manufacturers in Central and Upstate New York.

Bill Brower, an experienced leader with a rich background in higher education and community development, has been appointed as the director of public policy and community impact. In this pivotal role, he will collaborate with manufacturers, educators, and elected officials to shape public policies that benefit the manufacturing sector. Brower has previously raised substantial funds for institutions like Hamilton College and Le Moyne College, focusing on initiatives that connect underserved populations to career opportunities and technology training. His experience will be vital as the region continues to develop its advanced manufacturing and semiconductor industries.

In the realm of government relations, Courtney Kless joins MACNY as a specialist. She will serve as a vital link between the association, its members, and government officials across local, state, and federal levels. Kless will be instrumental in communicating MACNY’s policy priorities and advocating for issues affecting manufacturers. With a strong background in editorial leadership and strategic communications, she is poised to enhance stakeholder engagement and legislative initiatives.

The workforce development team also sees new talent with the addition of Adrianna Patzer, who will focus on expanding MACNY’s registered apprenticeship programs in Central New York. Patzer brings hands-on experience in employment services and job coaching, which will be crucial as she works with businesses and community partners to promote apprenticeship opportunities and tackle workforce challenges in high-demand industries.

Another workforce development specialist, Meriel Stokoe, will concentrate on direct entry pre-apprenticeship programs. Stokoe aims to strengthen connections between education and industry by collaborating with employers and educators to expand career pathways aligned with apprenticeship programs. Her efforts will include participant recruitment and program coordination, ensuring a robust pipeline of talent for the manufacturing sector.

Joining the human resources team, Colette Emmons has been appointed as the human relations manager. With over 15 years of leadership experience across various sectors, including manufacturing and healthcare, Emmons will oversee both strategic and operational human resources functions. Her responsibilities will encompass recruiting, employee development, performance management, and compliance, playing a critical role in nurturing MACNY’s workforce.

Lastly, Sarah Snyder joins as a workforce development specialist, bringing expertise in public health and government operations. She will support pre-apprenticeship programming with her skills in project management and stakeholder coordination, aiming to facilitate participant enrollment and ensure the successful implementation of programs.

MACNY, a nonprofit organization with a history spanning over 113 years, represents manufacturers throughout Central and Upstate New York. The addition of these six professionals reflects the organization’s commitment to enhancing its services and advocating for the manufacturing community.
