A family from Macomb Township, Michigan, recently experienced the magic of New York City by winning an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the FOX News’ All-American Christmas tree lighting. Christopher and Kelly Biernat had originally planned a cruise to the Cayman Islands two years ago, but upon learning of their win, they decided to embrace the festive opportunity.
After participating in the tree lighting ceremony, the Biernats spoke with Griff Jenkins, host of Fox and Friends Weekend, about their memorable experience. “We had an amazing time. It’s been a joy to kick off the holiday celebration here in New York City, and we’ve loved the hospitality from everybody,” Christopher Biernat said.
For Kelly, the highlight of the event was witnessing the excitement of the children who gathered to sing. “The kids were singing along to the beautiful music and they were so excited to line up and light up the tree and kick off the holiday season,” she noted. “Having just the time with our daughters here was amazing.”
The couple’s two daughters accompanied them on the trip, although both were busy with their studies—one in medical school and the other in nursing school—during the interview. This added a unique layer to the family’s holiday celebration, blending festive moments with their daughters’ academic commitments.
The annual event, which attracts thousands of visitors, serves as a significant marker of the holiday season in New York City. The Biernats’ enthusiasm and appreciation for the experience reflect the spirit of togetherness and joy that the season embodies.
As the Biernats return to their daily lives, their time in New York City will undoubtedly serve as a cherished memory, reminding them of the warmth and excitement that the holidays can bring.
