Marcus Smith, a distinguished graduate of the Oneida High School Class of 2022, is set to perform at a free community event, the Messiah Sing-Along, on December 21, 2023. This concert will take place at the Zion Episcopal Church, located at 140 W. Liberty St., Rome. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy the exquisite music of Handel’s “Messiah” and participate in the renowned Hallelujah chorus.
The concert features an impressive lineup of performers, including conductor G. Roberts Kolb, along with accompanist Sar-Shalom Strong. The vocal ensemble consists of talented artists such as soprano Pilar Padron Parnell, alto Stacy Spindlar, tenor Marcus Smith, and bass David Kolb.
Currently an undergraduate at the Crane School of Music, Smith has earned recognition for his vocal prowess. He has been selected as one of only three soloists for an upcoming community performance, showcasing his talent and dedication to music.
This event not only provides a platform for local musicians but also invites the community to gather and celebrate the holiday spirit through music.
