San Diego County to Experience Warming Trend Before Windy Weekend

A warm and drying trend is set to unfold across San Diego County on Thursday and Friday, with daytime temperatures returning to near-normal levels, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Highs are expected to reach between 67 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 71 to 74 degrees inland, 71 to 76 degrees in the valleys, 67 to 74 degrees in the mountains, and 85 to 89 degrees in the desert regions.

The weather forecast indicates that temperatures will fluctuate around average over the coming week, resembling a gentle ocean swell. They are projected to dip slightly below average on Wednesday, rise above average on Friday, and then fall again over the weekend before climbing back up next week.

Windy Conditions Anticipated This Weekend

As the weekend approaches, another weather system will bring cooler and windier conditions to the region. Gusty west winds are expected to develop on Sunday afternoon and evening, particularly impacting the mountains, deserts, and passes, where gusts could exceed 30 mph. This incoming system is characterized as dry, with any precipitation or storms predicted to remain well to the north, according to meteorologists.

Following the weekend, early next week will see a gradual return to warmer temperatures, along with periods of weak offshore flow, as noted by NWS officials. As the weather shifts, residents are advised to stay updated on local forecasts to prepare for the changing conditions.
