The Boston College Eagles’ football program received a significant boost when safety KP Price announced his return for the 2026 season. Price, who has led the team in total tackles for the past two years, made the announcement via social media on Saturday afternoon, sharing a graphic that read “He’s Not Done.” He accompanied the post with the message “Complete the mission.”
Price, standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 200 pounds, was named a team captain for the first time prior to the 2025 season. He played a pivotal role, starting all 12 games, including three as a linebacker. During the season, he recorded 94 tackles (65 solo), three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. His performance earned him a spot on the All-ACC Second Team, marking his first end-of-season conference accolade.
In the previous season, Price made all 13 starts at strong safety, leading the team with 85 tackles and also contributing two interceptions, two tackles for loss, and five pass break-ups. His journey began as a true freshman in 2023, where he played in all 13 games and started at safety during the Wasabi Fenway Bowl, a victory over No. 24 SMU.
Before joining Boston College, Price was a three-star recruit according to 247 Sports. He earned First-Team All-Conference and First-Team All-Metro honors while playing his initial three high school seasons at Calvert Hall College High School before transferring to St. Frances Academy for his senior year.
The announcement of Price’s return comes at a critical moment for the Eagles, who have seen a mass exodus of players following the 2025 season. So far, 26 players from the previous roster have entered the transfer portal, including key starters like quarterbacks Dylan Lonergan and Shaker Reisig, running back Turbo Richard, and defensive back Omar Thornton.
With Price’s decision to stay, the Eagles’ defense, which will be under the guidance of new defensive coordinator Ted Roof, will retain some veteran leadership as they prepare for the 2026 campaign. This will be Bill O’Brien’s third year as head coach, and having Price return is a positive sign for a program aiming to rebuild and strengthen its roster.
In addition to his contributions on the field, Price represented the Eagles at the 2025 ACC Football Kickoff in Charlotte, North Carolina, as one of four players selected by O’Brien to showcase the program. His leadership and experience will be crucial as Boston College navigates the challenges ahead in the upcoming season.
