Devon Tennis Awards 2026 Celebrate County’s Sporting Excellence

The Devon Tennis Awards 2026 took place at the prestigious Exeter Golf & Country Club, uniting members of the local tennis and padel community for an evening dedicated to celebrating excellence in the sport. The evening commenced with a warm welcome from Max Goodison, Chairman of Devon Tennis, who outlined the organization’s strategy and objectives for the upcoming year and beyond. His remarks set the tone for a night focused on both reflection and future aspirations.

Will McNally, the Performance Manager, took the stage next to spotlight key achievements from the past year. His overview underscored the progress made in the development of talent and initiatives aimed at broadening participation in the sport.

Adding further depth to the proceedings, Sharon Heeley, the LTA Head of Delivery for the South and South West, shared insights on national and regional development projects. Her discussion highlighted the positive impacts these initiatives have had on the community, emphasizing the importance of continued support and engagement in tennis.

Following a buffet supper that provided attendees a chance to network, the awards ceremony commenced. David Vinall, Honorary President of Devon Tennis, presented the awards, celebrating the nominees and winners who have demonstrated unwavering commitment, passion, and a positive influence on the sport.

A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of County Colours to the Devon Ladies 75s team, acknowledging their remarkable achievement in winning the County Cup Competition. This team triumphed over formidable opponents, including Middlesex, Surrey, Warwickshire, Kent, and Suffolk, before clinching the title in a final against the Northern section champion in Southampton during autumn 2025.
