Eutelsat has announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with beIN Media Group to continue the distribution of direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting services across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The new five-year agreement allows beIN Media Group to secure satellite capacity on the Eutelsat 7 West A and Eutelsat 8 West B satellites, enhancing its capability to deliver premium sports and news content to millions of households throughout MENA.
This partnership reinforces the significance of the 7/8° West orbital position, which currently reaches 95% of television homes in the region and boasts the largest exclusive audience. With over 66 million TV homes opting for this orbital neighborhood, Eutelsat’s position is recognized as a leader in video broadcasting, hosting the widest array of premium international and regional broadcasters.
Aymeric Genty, President of Eutelsat’s Video Business Unit, expressed pride in extending the partnership with beIN Media Group, stating, “Together, we will continue to deliver world-class sports content to millions of viewers with the highest levels of reliability and quality.” He highlighted the unparalleled value of the 7/8° West orbital position as the premier broadcast hub in MENA.
Israel Esteban, Chief Technology Officer of beIN Media Group, emphasized the importance of DTH broadcasting as the dominant distribution platform in the region. He noted, “This renewal builds on beIN and Eutelsat’s successful seven-year collaboration, ensuring that for the next five years, millions of viewers across 24 MENA countries will continue to enjoy the world’s most prestigious sports events and beIN Sports’ unrivaled coverage.”
The continued collaboration between these two major entities not only signifies a commitment to quality broadcasting but also highlights the evolving landscape of media distribution in the MENA region. With this renewed agreement, viewers can expect enhanced content delivery that meets the growing demand for premium sports programming. The partnership is set to further solidify the position of both Eutelsat and beIN Media Group in the competitive broadcasting market, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of the industry.
