Kraken Triumph Over Bruins 7-4, Extend Point Streak to Nine Games

The Seattle Kraken secured a commanding victory against the Boston Bruins, winning 7-4 on March 12, 2024. This win marks an impressive continuation of the Kraken’s point streak, now at nine games, with a record of 8-0-1 during this stretch. The performance was highlighted by strong contributions from several players, including a standout night for Kaapo Kakko, who netted two goals and provided an assist.

In a lively game at Climate Pledge Arena, Berkly Catton celebrated a milestone by scoring his first two goals in the NHL. Alongside him, Jared McCann contributed with a goal and an assist, while Jordan Eberle and Ben Meyers also found the back of the net. Joey Daccord made 32 saves, showcasing his skills in goal as the Kraken maintained their momentum.

The scoring opened at 8:50 in the first period when Eberle capitalized on a lengthy 5-on-3 opportunity, marking his team-leading 15th goal of the season. The Bruins responded less than four minutes later when David Pastrnak broke free to score after receiving a pass from Nikita Zadorov.

Seattle reclaimed control early in the second period when Catton scored his first NHL goal, but Pastrnak quickly equalized again with a shot into an open net, assisted by Charlie McAvoy. The back-and-forth continued as Meyers scored with 1:37 left in the second period, followed by McCann’s power-play goal just as the period concluded, putting the Kraken ahead 4-2.

The Kraken continued to widen the gap in the third period. Kakko scored his second goal, making it 5-2 midway through the period. Catton then added to his tally with 5:40 remaining, netting his second of the night. The Bruins attempted a late rally, with goals from Arvidsson and Lohrei drawing them closer, but Kakko sealed the game with an empty-net goal in the final seconds.

This victory not only solidifies Seattle’s position in the league standings but also reflects their growing chemistry on the ice. As the Kraken look to continue this streak, they will face the Minnesota Wild on March 14, while the Bruins will host the Calgary Flames on the same night.

The Kraken’s performance serves as a testament to their development this season and their potential for future challenges in the NHL.
