Lenoir-Rhyne University Celebrates Top Athletic Achievements of 2025

Lenoir-Rhyne University marked a remarkable year in athletics with its top ten athletic moments of 2025, showcasing extraordinary achievements in track and field, basketball, and triathlon events. These milestones not only highlighted the university’s athletic prowess but also contributed to a growing legacy within collegiate sports.

Record-Breaking Performances

Among the standout achievements, the university’s track and field team set multiple records during the annual USA Track and Field Championships held in June. The team secured a total of three national titles, with standout athlete Jordan Smith breaking the college record in the 400-meter sprint with a time of 45.32 seconds. In addition to track and field, the basketball team experienced a historic season. The team reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time in over a decade.
