North Central College Pursues Back-to-Back Titles
North Central College, located in suburban Naperville, is poised to defend its title as the reigning national champions in Division III. The Cardinals will compete against the winner of the upcoming game between Muhlenberg and Union, scheduled for noon Central time on Saturday, November 29. This season, North Central has established itself as one of the most formidable teams in Division III football, averaging over 54 points per game while allowing just 6.6 points per contest.
Key players have contributed to this impressive performance. Running back Donovan Mitchell has rushed for over 1,009 yards and scored seven touchdowns in ten games. Quarterback Garrett Wilson has been instrumental in the passing game, throwing for 2,078 yards, with an outstanding total of 35 touchdowns on just 191 attempts.
Wheaton College and Monmouth Join the Playoff Field
Wheaton College, boasting an 8-2 record, will also be in action, facing Crown on Saturday, November 22. The Thunder’s offense has been potent as well, averaging 45.8 points per game.
