Oakdale High Wrestlers Honored Before State Meet Send-Off

A community gathering will take place on February 25, 2026, to honor the Oakdale High wrestlers as they prepare for the State Meet. The event will be held at the Gene Bianchi Community Center on F Street, starting at 14:10 local time. This is an opportunity for residents to show their support for the athletes who have demonstrated dedication and resilience throughout their season.

Local organizer Shanna Springer expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement and the chance to celebrate the wrestlers’ achievements. “Let’s show them how proud we are of their hard work and amazing accomplishments,” Springer said. The Oakdale Mustangs have had a successful season, facing tough competition and coming away victorious in many matches.

Participants are encouraged to gather in the Oakdale Town Plaza area, where they can bring signs and banners to display their Mustang spirit. For those needing assistance with signage, homemade signs will be available for distribution prior to the event. The wrestlers’ buses are expected to pass by the Bianchi Community Center between 14:20 and 14:25, allowing classmates and supporters to line up along F Street in anticipation of the athletes’ arrival.

The Oakdale wrestlers have demonstrated exceptional skill and tenacity throughout their matches, training rigorously to prepare for this key event. Their accomplishments are a testament to their hard work and the support they receive from their dedicated coaches, parents, and community members.

Springer emphasized the importance of this send-off, stating, “Let’s send them off to State in a huge way.” The community’s collective pride in these young athletes is palpable, and the gathering aims to highlight that spirit.

Residents and supporters of the Oakdale Mustangs are invited to join this celebration of athletic achievement. The event promises to be a heartfelt send-off for the wrestlers as they embark on their journey to the State Meet.
