Roselle Catholic Triumphs Over Scotch Plains-Fanwood in Final

In a commanding performance, the No. 8 ranked Roselle Catholic Lions clinched victory against Scotch Plains-Fanwood with a score of 69-49 in the 2025 NJSIAA Non-Public B boys basketball final. The match took place on March 14, 2025, at Jersey Mike’s Arena, located at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Trevon Lewis showcased an exceptional all-around game, achieving a rare triple-double with nine points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals. His pivotal contributions were instrumental in securing the Lions’ first lead late in the game, igniting excitement among the crowd.

Roselle Catholic established a strong foundation in the first half, leading by a significant margin of 36-18 at halftime. Tyrease Hunter was the leading scorer for the Lions, netting 20 points, while Caleb Jones contributed 15 points and Kahlik Thomas added 12 points and six steals.

On the opposing side, Scotch Plains-Fanwood’s Seth Hunter and Sean Sponheimer each scored 11 points, while Caleb McDowell contributed 10 points and secured seven rebounds. Despite their efforts, the team was unable to close the gap as Roselle Catholic maintained control throughout the second half.
