Belding Superintendent Brent Noskey Scores 99% in Annual Review

UPDATE: Belding Area Schools Superintendent Brent Noskey has achieved an outstanding 99% rating in his annual evaluation, confirmed during a school board meeting on October 16, 2023. This remarkable score underscores Noskey’s effective leadership as he approaches a decade in his role.

During the meeting, the board members voted unanimously to endorse his performance, which was rated in critical areas such as governance, community relations, and instructional leadership. Noskey scored a top mark of 3 in four out of five evaluation categories, with a weighted score of 2.98 out of 3.

Board President Terry Boni expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We found Mr. Noskey just as effective as he was before. He did really well.” The evaluation categorized Noskey’s performance as “effective,” the highest rating available.

Noskey, who has led the district since 2016, has consistently maintained high performance ratings, with no score below 92% throughout his tenure. Boni highlighted Noskey’s strong community presence and ability to foster relationships as key factors in his success. “He reaches out to everybody and he’s always at every event,” Boni noted.

In a statement reflecting on his evaluation, Noskey acknowledged the support from the board and his administrative team, saying, “I could not do this job without my administrative team.” His strong connections with staff have greatly contributed to the positive atmosphere within the district.

The board evaluation also noted the challenges Noskey faced, including a 12% decline in student enrollment over nine years and the impact of the pandemic. Despite these hurdles, Belding Area Schools has maintained its identity as a close-knit community.

Noskey currently earns a base salary of $157,725, and there will be no changes to his contract following this evaluation. His efforts in maintaining a positive school culture and financial stability have proven vital in navigating these challenges.
