URGENT UPDATE: Rosa Lee Manderfeld, a beloved community member from Cloquet, Minnesota, has passed away at the age of 83 on October 16, 2025. The news has sent shockwaves through the local community, where she was known for her dedication and warmth.
Born on February 2, 1942, to George and Senja Ahlgren, Rosa was the middle child among seven siblings and shared a special bond with her twin brother, Ronnie. Growing up on a small farm in Cloquet, she graduated from Cloquet High School in 1960 and pursued a career in nursing, serving as an LPN for 42 years at Cloquet Memorial Hospital.
Rosa was not only a dedicated healthcare professional but also an avid walker, famously completing the Grandma’s Marathon in 1992. Her passion for life was evident in all she did, making a lasting impact on both her family and the community.
Married to Jerome (Jerry) Manderfeld on February 16, 1963, they enjoyed 46 years together until Jerry’s passing in 2009. Together, they raised two children, Elizabeth and David, who carry on her legacy. Rosa is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Haidar) Fakhoury, son David (Dawn) Manderfeld, grandchildren Jeries (Shannon) Fakhoury, Joseph Fakhoury, Logan Manderfeld (Rita Kuzko), Kiera Manderfeld, and great-grandson Micah. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, all mourning her loss.
