UPDATE: Despite a forecast predicting up to 2 inches of rain this Saturday, the highly anticipated Light Up Main Street event in Santa Clarita will proceed as planned from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on December 2, 2023. Residents are encouraged to don their rain boots and carry umbrellas to join in the festive kickoff of the holiday season.
The event will be held in Old Town Newhall, where the Santa Clarita City Council will lead the countdown to illuminate the iconic Christmas tree at 5:30 PM. This dazzling display will light up the town with tens of thousands of lights, creating a magical holiday atmosphere.
While some attractions will be affected by the weather, including the smores fire pits and inflatables, guests can still enjoy a variety of exciting activities. The Makers Marketplace, main stage entertainment, sponsor tents, letters to Santa, a Snow Zone, food and beverage lounge, beer garden, ice sculptures, nonprofit booths, photos with Santa, and the Candy Cane Carnival will all be available.
This annual event not only marks the start of the holiday festivities but also brings the community together, fostering a spirit of joy and celebration even amidst the rain. As the holiday season approaches, Light Up Main Street serves as a reminder of the warmth and togetherness that defines this time of year.
