Lynn Women’s Health Hosts Joyous Baby’s First Holiday Event

UPDATE: Lynn Women’s Health held its annual Baby’s First Holiday celebration at Fox Hill Yacht Club in Saugus on December 1, 2025, welcoming families to mark this special milestone for their infants. The event, a cherished tradition for over 25 years, brought together patients and their babies, all under the age of one, fostering community spirit and joy.

Practice Manager Sophea Chea expressed the importance of this gathering, stating, “Seeing everyone so happy and appreciative is incredibly rewarding.” This year’s party attracted returning patients, many eagerly asking, “Are you having the Christmas party again?” Chea confirmed, “Absolutely!” highlighting the anticipation surrounding the event.

The afternoon was filled with excitement, featuring raffles every 15 minutes with prizes including gift cards, a stroller, and unique diaper cakes. Families enjoyed a delightful spread of food and drinks, while a special guest—Santa—posed for photos with the children, creating lasting memories.

Chea emphasized the significance of community support, saying, “Really, the main goal here is to get the community together, especially the moms. They can see that they have support.” The event not only reunites families with healthcare providers, but also strengthens bonds formed during prenatal visits.

The concept for the celebration originated in 1999, when Chea worked with Dr. Lewis Laz at Lynn Community Health Center, aiming to uplift underserved patients. “It’s a lot of work, but it’s so rewarding,” she noted about the planning that begins as early as September.

City officials attended to show support, with Mayor Jared C. Nicholson personally welcoming families. “We want you to know that the City is here for you, and we’re so proud of the life that you brought into this world,” he said, reinforcing the community’s commitment to its newest members.

As the event wrapped up, the atmosphere buzzed with laughter and joy, underscoring the importance of these celebrations in the lives of families. As Chea reflected on the day, she remarked, “When I see how happy everybody is, that’s so rewarding.”

The Baby’s First Holiday party not only marks a joyous occasion for infants and their families but also serves as a reminder of the community’s collective support, making it an event that people look forward to year after year. The next gathering is already on the minds of many, as Lynn Women’s Health continues to provide a nurturing environment for families in need.
