URGENT UPDATE: A man has been hospitalized after being attacked by his own dog in Windsor on Saturday. The shocking incident occurred at approximately 4:37 p.m. in the 900 block of River Street, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.
Windsor Police officers arrived at the scene to find the man on the ground with a pit bull beside him, reports Capt. Andrew Power of the Windsor Police Department. Officers quickly secured the dog and confirmed that the man was its owner.
The victim reported to police that the pit bull had a history of aggressive behavior. He suffered numerous bite marks and lacerations during the attack. Emergency medical personnel provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further care.
The dog was taken to the Windsor Animal Shelter, where an animal control officer was alerted. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this alarming incident.
