Nate Morris Gains Momentum in Kentucky Senate Race Amid Poll Surges

Polling data from Kentucky indicates that Nate Morris is gaining significant traction in the Republican Senate primary, positioning himself as a formidable challenger to established candidates. The latest survey reveals that Morris, who has the backing of influential figures such as the late Charlie Kirk, is in a statistical tie for second place in a three-way race against former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Congressman Andy Barr.

As the primary approaches, voter interest in Morris is growing, evident from recent advertising efforts that highlight his alignment with the MAGA movement. According to a polling memo from Tony Fabrizio, a prominent pollster and advisor to former President Donald Trump, the race is tightening. In a direct comparison, Cameron leads with 31%, followed closely by Barr at 24% and Morris at 21%. Notably, when focusing on voters who are familiar with all three candidates, Morris edges ahead with 28%, compared to Cameron’s 26% and Barr’s 25%.

Cameron, who has enjoyed substantial name recognition from his tenure as attorney general and his recent gubernatorial run, is beginning to see his lead diminish. The poll suggests that voters are becoming aware that Cameron lacks Trump’s endorsement, which appears to be influencing their preferences. Morris is poised to capitalize on this shift, especially as he increases his visibility through strategic advertising.

In contrast, Congressman Barr has not experienced significant movement in the polls since entering the race in April 2025, despite substantial campaign spending and support from a well-funded Super PAC. His inability to gain ground could deter potential donors as the race progresses.

With primary election day just months away, Morris’s campaign is backed by substantial financial resources. A recent infusion of $10 million to Morris’s Super PAC marks the largest disclosed contribution of the 2026 midterm cycle. While this investment has not yet translated into polling success, its potential impact is significant, given the effectiveness of Morris’s messaging.

Morris’s platform centers around a commitment to an immigration moratorium until all illegal migrants are deported, as well as the abolition of the “zombie filibuster” to facilitate the passage of the SAVE Act. This legislation aims to implement voter ID requirements and other election integrity measures, which have garnered bipartisan support among conservatives.

Endorsements from key figures in the Republican Party, including support from Turning Point Action and other prominent senators, further enhance Morris’s standing. His personal friendship with Vice President J.D. Vance could also play a role in solidifying his position within the party.

The poll conducted by Fabrizio, Lee & Associates surveyed 800 likely Republican primary voters in Kentucky from January 27 to January 29, 2026. As Morris continues to gain momentum, the dynamics of the race could shift dramatically, making him a candidate to watch as the election draws nearer.
