Frederic Earl Marsee, an esteemed educator and beloved member of his community, passed away at the age of 83 on February 19, 2026, in his home in Hermosa Beach, California. Born on March 6, 1942, in Portland, Oregon, he dedicated over four decades of his life to the education sector, making a significant impact on students and colleagues alike.

Marsee’s career spanned various roles, including teacher, administrator, and principal within the Redondo Beach Unified School District and Los Angeles County. His commitment to education was evident in his engaging teaching methods and his passion for fostering a positive learning environment. Colleagues remember him as a mentor who inspired generations of students.

Outside of his professional life, Marsee had a profound love for the ocean. Growing up in the South Bay area, he spent much of his youth surfing the local waves. In later years, he developed a keen interest in golf, which he pursued with great enthusiasm, often seen on the greens.

He is survived by his partner, Barbara Demarest; his daughter, Megan Koch; his son, Kevin Marsee; and five cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Darren Marsee, a loss that deeply affected him and his family.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for March 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Lighthouse Memorials and Receptions, Rice Center, in Torrance. This gathering will honor Marsee’s legacy and the positive impact he had on so many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages attendees to mix themselves a martini and consider a donation to Blood Cancer United in Marsee’s memory. This reflects his lively spirit and desire to make a difference even after his passing.

Frederic Earl Marsee will be remembered not only for his contributions to education but also for his warm personality and love for family and friends. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the lessons he imparted.
