Sally J. Ifkovits, 62, Passes Away, Leaving Lasting Legacy

UPDATE: Sally J. Ifkovits, aged 62, of Northampton, has passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital’s Inpatient Hospice Unit, surrounded by her loving family. This devastating news has struck her community hard, as she was a cherished figure known for her dedication to her family and her career.

Sally’s husband, Michael J. Ifkovits, and their family are mourning her loss after celebrating an incredible 37 years of marriage. Sally was born on January 27, 1963, in Allentown, the daughter of the late Fred H. Rex and Marion J. Rex. She dedicated over 32 years of her life to the People First Federal Credit Union, rising from member services manager to card and ATM operations manager.

Her family, especially her grandson Paxton, who brought her immense joy, will miss her deeply. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Riley and wife Kelly, and Alex and wife Anna; brothers Keith Rex and Kevin Rex (wife Karen), sister Susie Weber (husband Harold), and several nieces and nephews, including Kristin, Hunter, Jessica, Lauren, Katherine, Avery, Andrew, Aaron; as well as great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jane, and niece Adrienne.

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2nd, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Reichel Funeral Home, located at 326 E. 21st St., Northampton. Following the visitation, a prayer service will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley in Sally’s memory, reflecting her dedication to helping others even in her passing.
