Suspect Arrested in Fatal Riverside Stabbing of 35-Year-Old Man

URGENT UPDATE: A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 35-year-old Jullian Hughes in Riverside, California. The incident, which left Hughes dead from multiple stab wounds, occurred around 12:20 PM on December 9, 2023, in the 3700 block of University Avenue, according to the Riverside Police Department.

Officers responded quickly to the scene after reports of the stabbing and found Hughes suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.

The alleged assailant, identified as John Larry Perryman, fled the scene but was located shortly after near 14th Street and Segewick Avenue. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that Perryman has been booked on suspicion of murder and is scheduled to appear in court next week.
