During his time at Penn State, Henchy collaborated with the 2024 Big Ten Coach of the Year, Katie Schumacher-Cawley, coaching standout players including Freshman of the Year Izzy Starck and Jess Mruzik, who earned unanimous All-Big Ten selection. His strategic coaching helped Penn State maintain a 54-15 record and successfully navigate the NCAA tournament in 2025, showcasing his ability to cultivate talent at the highest level.
Prior to his tenure at Penn State, Henchy was the Associate Head Coach at James Madison University, where he led the Dukes to the Sun Belt Conference championship and two consecutive national tournament appearances in 2022 and 2023.
