Uniontown Veterans Day Parade Set for Tuesday at 11 AM

URGENT UPDATE: The annual Veterans Day Parade is set to take place in downtown Uniontown on Tuesday, November 11, at 11 AM. Organized by the American Legion LaFayette Post 51, this event honors veterans and promises to be a significant gathering for the community.

Participants will gather at 9 AM for lineup, with marchers staging on East Church Street between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor, as well as along Jefferson Street, Iowa Street, and East South Street. Spectators can look forward to a poignant moment at 11:11 AM when taps will be played at Storey Square.

Buses are permitted to drop off marching bands and Junior ROTC members at St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 50 Jefferson St.. After the parade, students will be picked up at St. Mary (Nativity) Church, 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave..

For those wishing to participate, veterans are encouraged to meet at Marshall Park. Notably, all-terrain vehicles and side-by-sides require prior permission from the Uniontown Police Department, and horses will not be allowed in the parade. Additionally, there will be no political messaging permitted during the event, ensuring a respectful tribute to those who have served.
