UPDATE: A 28-year-old bicyclist has been hospitalized following a serious crash in Port Richmond, Staten Island, just after 5 p.m. on November 24, 2023. The New York Police Department (NYPD) reports that the cyclist was struck by a vehicle making a left turn from Richmond Terrace onto Heberton Avenue.
Witnesses say the rider was seen lying on the ground, prompting immediate response from police officers who assisted him to the sidewalk. Emergency services were quickly dispatched, and firefighters remained with the victim until an ambulance from EMS arrived to transport him to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton.
